Embryo Transfer

Embryo transfer offers mare owners the opportunity to “harvest” fertilised eggs from their top mare (donor) that is unable to carry a foal due to poor uterine condition (this does also reduce the chance of harvesting embryos) or being in competition; and inseminating into a mare (recipient) that has been fully synchronised in her oestrus cycle. This usually involves have up to 3 or 4 mares on hand for each donor mare. Or having the embryos frozen for future use.

With 40 mares on site during the breeding season, Syenz is not able to keep large numbers of recipient mares on hand typically required for embryo transfer as a matter of course. However we do have a limited number available and, on special request, we can make arrangements for this service.
